Getting a post track day fluid change Monday and the dealer thinks so but I thought friction modifiers were for LSDs with clutch packs.

Anyone know?

If there were a need for a friction modifier, it would be one having an effect on steel/steel interfaces rather than a friction media, as that's the only "friction" present in a Torsen. There is, in effect, some binding, but unless it's some magic *Torsen-specific* goo, the answer's no.

The only thing I have heard is that SOME (not all) 4th gen F-bodies with a ZT diff need it to eliminate some noise, but it should not be required for durability.

From Torsens FAQ

We suggest that you follow what is listed in your vehicle's owners manual. We do require that a GL4/GL5 class oil be used for the Torsen T-1. The T-1 requires an oil with extreme pressure additives for optimal function. Torsen works well in either synthetic or mineral base oils!

So has the dealer *voided* your warranty yet due to tracking yet? I want to track the ST but because of warranty I want to wait till after they are up.
